Shoutout to Mew2King for being an absolutely legendary gamer and doing some very crucial research for F-Zero GX in the early days

@@vSAMGX Wow I didn't know that! As an oldschool Melee player who also loves GX, this is yet another crossover I wasn't expecting! Also dude, you deserve way more views with this production quality.

@@futurefox128 it makes so much sense tho. What game could be even more / far more / demanding than Melee..... ???? Well. GX is quite up there. Already in the base game the very hard story mode was something not accessible for every humans. I dunnow much person who beat the story mode in it's entirety. (IRL. Not on the net, ofc there are tons of players who did it over the world) You then add the frantic exploration and iron-will-state of mind that you need for Time Attack between world bests players....

Love seeing a documentary series on a lesser known game like GX that not only gives a fascinating history on its early life and mechanical finds, but also acts a genuine love letter to the early internet forum communities that, with their clear passion for the game, built the foundations of the GX we see today. As someone who doesn’t know a whole lot about F-Zero, your own passion made this video fascinating to watch. Great job! Hoping for part 3.

I have to admit, I don't really find MTSing to be that difficult, but I guess it's because when I started playing GX I was already used to flying around sideways in Maximum Velocity.

Fuck Zelda sellings, I would love to see F-ZERO game success greatly. After 14 year I finally get this game, I'm loving it a lot! but also impresses me so much the hardcore love it's community is giving to it. Both in custom machines and time attacks.

Really well done video here. I really didn't know we had so much drama that early with the game's Championship. That was pretty educational. Also I really like how over in the progression of our players finding out these "new" techniques.

Wow. This video was great! I just recently watched the f-zero anime. I'm so sad that i couldnt play the game when it came out. I played the f-zero gx about 4 years ago and that game is so good. I can just feel the love put into it with all that it can offer. Again thanks for the video, it was a great insight into the speedrunning side of the game.

Very high quality and very educational. Loved every second of it. Didn't the staff ghost on lateral shift basically show off the shift boost mechanic?

Yep, the staff ghost does shift boost there. We couldn't conclude whether muumu got the idea from the staff ghost of not. He never mentioned the staff ghost in his posts

Thank you KZbin for dropping me in this FANTASTIC documentary! The production value of this video is so top tier that it's such a shame that F-Zero videos belongs to such an obscure part of KZbin where they get so little views. I'll drop my little grain of sand and I'll like and sub. I'm going to look for some Discord F-Zero channels to spread the love for this!

Ok, the more I put two and two together, the more suspicious all these hurdles for international competition become. It seems like the whole thing was rigged in favor of Japanese players, with how the alternative entry form to circumvent the 1'20" block was Japan-exclusive, and how the Japanese version _lacked_ a bug that prevented times under 20 seconds from being saved properly.
@richyroa23 күн бұрын
I found the exclusive custom parts to be the most infuriating thing. Like it wasn't enough that they had a month head-start and an exclusive special entry form, but also their baseline ships (not accounting for human input) were already better, haha.
@chunzprocessor Жыл бұрын
Ohh! How did you find out the original Japanese forums? That's purely impressive cuz I couldn't find them out haha And your explanation is quite understandable even for Japanese viewers like me. Nice vid edit btw! You reminded me of how this game was awesome. I wanna say thank you very much for uploading the vid as one of the Japanese players who enjoyed a lot to play this game :)

That’s bullshit… the part where they aren’t allowed to use action replay to acquire parts they’d have to travel overseas and through fucking time to get.
