Hey brother, If you want to start mining you have to join the mining guild and they'll give you a mining laser. Hawkes gaming has a nice little 14 minute video explaining it. To control the radio volume and to change stations press U while in the ship. Also this game 100% needs a mouse sensitivity slider.
