Hey brother, here are some more tips and hopefully not to spoilery. This game is not great at explaining things. Turning the mining beam efficiency to max and power to 0 will stop so much rock from being eaten away when firing the beam. Power is for burrowing into the astroid efficiency is to extract the ore. Can get like 300 to 400 ore on 1 astroid in about 30 min or so. It looks like ship inventory and player inventory is shared not separate. In the inventory screen at the bottom left tells you current weight and maximum weight. You can go over maximum weight by as much as you want. Whether its 1 pound or 5000 the penalty is the same. Makes warp speed slower. The game wont hard stop you from collecting things. Holding the aim button/right mouse button and then firing will make the mining beam constant intead of the short bursts. The ship you currently have is considered a fighter and cant be equipped for mining. You have to buy an actual mining ship. Mining ships can be equipped with the proper probes and whatnot. Apparently you can also mine on planets in certain designated areas. Haven't tried that yet though. Happy mining.

No not boring. I really like this game but it's not overly intuitive. There are video tutorials in the pause screen. I've had to look up more than a few things. Games got a lot more going on than you'd think. Happy new year.
