Kunchok Migmar won the recent Dharamshala 2022 elections with over 1149 votes against previous office holder Kunga Tsering who acquired over 690 votes. This is one of the highest voter turnouts in recent history of Dhasa’s Settlement officer elections. The new position holder Migmar would be in charge of all the essential public matters at the exile capital of the Tibetan diaspora. Land problems, housing concerns, communication with Indian counterparts in this unique locality were some of the few issues raised by the voters on election day.
