Varanasi is very near to my heart as it's my hometown,as far as I remember the city has progressed with the rate that no one could imagine..with progressions local tourism and hence employment also improved The video showcased only the problems which are general national or global problems. Let’s never ever forget…prior to PM Modi, half the country was pooping on the streets and the Ganges was worse than a sewer line in Somalia. Without infrastructure you can forget about richer people visiting Varanasi. And without richer people visiting you can forget about the poor people’s development. Let’s not forget under the anarchic, incompetent, and anti-national congress rule India was facing a famine like situation every day - everywhere on the streets there were people sitting around begging, with extreme poverty out of control. There was disease and scams everywhere. Even with PM Modi around a lot more needs to be done, as the scale of backwardness of Indian society accumulated is very high, thanks to 6 decades of corrupt and disastrous congress rule. 5 or 10 or even 15 years of proper administration won’t be enough to undo the Seaver damage done by the prior administrations. How many people know that even the Soviet planners (who pretty much established the national planning process of India) were shocked by the abject poverty introduced by the Congress governments and warned Nehru about the disastrous policies he was pursuing under the garb of centralized planning? The massive damage done to every facet of Indian life by the incompetent congress governments cannot be undone in just 7 or even 10 years. A lot more time, a lot more investment and a lot more determined, corruption free, nationalistic leadership is required. If India goes back to electing the incompetent and criminal politicians like in the past, you can be 100% guaranteed that most investors will flee India and rampant poverty will be back , not to mention 50% of the country will start defecating on the streets again. How many Indians want this forgettable past to happen again? Democracy comes with responsibility and if people abuse that responsibility then every single citizen will pay for it with their health, wealth, and honor.

You can NEVER get the poor out of poverty without investment and growth. This extremely bad thinking by Nehru that meager investments by a nationalized government sector will bring people out of poverty [by price control of goods] was so stupid and even warned by the Soviets [who themselves had rather inefficient economic policies]that it resulted in India's bankruptcy in 1991. TamilNadu is a good example - all its cities lack infrastructure severely. And highways are small and limited. The cities look like urban villages with no access to world class services and goods and top living arrangements. TN is caught in a middle income trap and so is Kerala. Most TN and KL youth have to go to Bangalore or Hyderabad or the Gulf or the US to get ahead. So these lefty idiots who tout the KL or TN as success stories must understand that KL or TN are actually colossal failures in providing quality of life and jobs to its citizens. Look at cities and villages in Gujarat and the infrastructure there. Heck even Bihar is well ahead of TN in providing piped water to rural households. TN is nowhere in infrastructure as the freebie culture and lack of industry has pretty much left no money for infra development. Same with KL. Infrastructure in both states suck so much that National Highways look like local streets and urban areas look like glorified villages with its cities barely making it to top50 in cleanliness, because I am sure investments in keeping cities clean have been diverted to freebies and welfare payouts. If this continues, TN is going to become the former Bihar.

The recent ones sactioned by gadkari ji which is being built outside TN are all concrete cement or asphalt concrete using modified bitumen technology. New highways in UP, Punjab and Maharashtra has them. But Kerala is a funny case. Roads were pathetically narrow there. In South I found one of the best highways in Andhra Pradesh.

TN has put traffic lights on highways and slowed down everything instead of making them access controlled and speeding up logistics. They have failed to build bypass roads to move traffic away from cities. TN population density is one of the highest in India but the main highways are just not enough in capacity and speed to be competitive in logistics. Too much focus on socialism and freebie culture has killed the treasury and there is not enough money for infrastructure projects. Compare how Telangana solved the water issues with tremendous investment in infrastructure and see how TN is lagging behind in jal jeevan mission projects and inability to provide reliable power supply to industries because of which several MSMEs relocated to Gujarat and Telangana. There is a lot of rot in TN which need to be fixed.
