Under the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has adopted seven villages in total. The scheme tasked parliamentarians to develop adarsh grams (ideal villages) in their constituencies. Earlier this month, ThePrint visited four of these seven villages adopted by the PM. I don't know reason but what I see is, most of the poor people houses in north India doesn't have cement plastering on walls.. in south states even poor people who gets govt funds for house construction will get it properly plastered by putting some money from their savings or borrowing it. No one can build complete house using 1.8 lacks and govt can't give full amount for complete construction.

The North states are close to Delhi, the bureaucracy is corrupt, and most of political "representation" come from North, West India, so the corruption and political "control" is more. Most of the parameters are met from PM adopted villages. Once it's done the pradhans have to take over and keep maintenance upto date.

Better standards of governance lead to higher expectation from the beneficiaries. As someone from a city, I feel that we in city have problems that are quite similar to those of these villages. Based on this video, I would not like to pass a judgement on Na Mo, but on the local administration that has the onus of implementing government policies. Let's bear in mind that this is a part of the process from 'developing' to 'developed'.

We have all these facilities even though our village is not adoped. How can then this called be development. A development of a village is when the village is able to generate its own revenue to meet their own development expenses. So what is Modi doing to make these villages athmanirbar? What is the job opportunities that the government is doing, how is the inflation being curbed, how are the farmers lives being improved so that they can be financially independent and improve their credibility with financial institutions.

Many built houses are dark with a small window. To make matters worse, there is a severe lack of basics like no water connection & no toilets, making the conditions unlivable. Some people are taking 50,000 loans just to dig a well.
