One tiny detail I really like is the little dot on the terminals of the subwoofer. You can still see the red wire going from the terminal to the spider. If you have the woofer flipped while you are pre wiring it the dot makes figuring out which terminal is positive so much easier. 👍

Maybe one little suggestion on the screw down terminal for the subwoofer I’d put a little drop of blue locktite just so they don’t back out over time from vibration

...there are better choices. Speakers actually manufactured and designed in Germany. GZ are Chinese. They are pretending. Consider German Maestro or Micro Precission or Brax. They are all actually German made. If you want Chinese, there are A TON of cheaper brands that will be as good..But the GZs look nice too, I guess. ,And are probably good enough for most.

@@raymo6795 The Nuclear, Plutonium and Reference range components are all built in Germany. The rest are built in China. But every range is engineered and designed by GZ and built to their specs. They don’t just rebrand standard, off-the-shelf drivers. Every driver is designed with the help of a Klippel Distortion Analyser. This allows the performance of the driver under full load to be analysed. Problems can be discovered and solutions found before a design is finalised. It’s rare for driver manufacturers, particularly car audio driver manufacturers, to go to these lengths to improve the performance of their products.

@@ScramTek …I was speaking mostly about their amplifiers. I have no doubt they are fine products,built to high specs. But I think this amplifier is around $1600(?) For that amount of money, I rather prefer a product that is made in Europe or America. I resent the deceptive advertising. The box says German this and German that, but you are getting an expensive amplifier that is made in China. I would consider any of their speaker lines that are German made, but the woofer Dean “unboxed” said in small letters on the back, on the bottom “ Made in China”. I have no doubt GZ are decent products, maybe some are exceptional. I just don’t like the misleading advertising. “Gladen” also practices this sort deceptive advertising, with products on par with GZ, but much cheaper, a 5 or 6 channel Gladen can be bought for half the price of the GZ and will perform similarly, also “ German engineering “, but made in China.My next 6 channel amp will be Mmats, Made in FLA, U.S.A. I currently use Helix and Brax, designed, engineered and manufactured in Germany with MicroPrecision speakers also German made.Chinese stuff is okay, guess, but not for those prices, IMO. Buy what you like, But the Chinese are well known for cruel labor practices, not to mention…there is this virus going around…So, I avoid supporting Red China when I can. 👍✌️🎶I am lately not to happy with the Germans either…..MMATS! USA🇺🇸

​@@raymo6795 Yeah, GZ amps are not of their own design. I’ve heard their drivers are good quality and perform well. I’m not a fan of the look of GZ products tho. I know that shouldn’t matter but it does, even if it’s a minor consideration. My next build I’m going with B2 subs powered by a Powerus amp. I think B2 make the best high output subwoofers in the industry. I’m an SQL fan. And have you seen Barevids review of the latest Powerus monoblocks? Not sure about front stage yet. Want to try running an active front stage for first time. I’ve heard good things about Gladen components but not had chance to hear them myself. Do you have any experience with their products? Not heard of MicroPrecision, but if you’re using Helix and Brax power stage then I imagine they’re out of my price range.. Theres nothing wrong with Chinese made gear. Like any country, there are some very high quality manufacturers and there are some appallingly bad ones. I know the basics and have installed a handful of amps , head units and speakers. My goal has been to keep it clean without rigging stuff. If I knew of a shop in the Pacific Northwest that did quality installs I would gladly pay. Any known shops up in WA?

@45eno Check with Tom Miller and his crew at *MusicarNW* which is a Top Tier, high end shop. They are in Portland, OR, but should know the other top tier shops in Washington state and will refer you to them.

A 6.5" speaker is 6.5" from surround to surround, not from edge to edge. This is only a 5" midwoofer. In order to qualify as a 6.5" speaker the actual speakers surface area has to be 6.5" in width without the mounting frame. A 6.5" speaker is usually 7.5-8" wide.

Not putting that kina money into CCA voicecoils. Not when there are better speakers with copper coils. Its ridiculous to cut corners there to save costs. Those speakers and similar will eventually seize. Not a smart investment.

while yes pure CU would be better, that voice coil will never see enough power or heat to hurt cca wire.

🤦🏻‍♂️ Aluminum voice coils have less mass than copper and can improve higher frequency response. Also, due to the difference in resistance and the winding requirements for aluminum VC, the larger surface area of an aluminum VC can actually have better cooling properties. For example..... Morel Elate Titanium speakers are not cheap and use aluminum voice coils on a titanium bobbin. There are many factors in the VC design and I believe that you don't really know what you're talking about and you're just parroting what you've heard about CCA power wire.
