i don't understand it either. on our local trails it's the same. Spending weeks on building trails and then once it's done they fuck it up in one afternoon. And what's with the e-bikes? Young healthy people on e-bikes? Generation lazy is there.

@@DM-fj8wv that's a bullshit reason. Even more so because the downhilling is much, much worse than on a normal bike. So I don't get why you would want to do more downhilling of lesser quality. Quality over quantity.

Dont forget to build erosion control into your trails. Not only does it lessen the maintenance requirements down the road, it protects the land and the watershed.
@ErwinvanHolten3 жыл бұрын
How?
@MATTMAHONEY__3 жыл бұрын
@@ErwinvanHolten Its hard to explain over text. Let's say you're riding down a trail that's traversing a hillside. If the uphill is to your right, you want the trail sloped down to your left. If the trail were sloped right, it would be a V with the hill and promote erosion. If it's sloped away from the hill, then water drains off the side of the trail rather than straight down the trail. You can also put in check dams which divert water running down the trail off the trail onto vegetated slope. Im sure someone can explain it better, it's been a decade since I was a trail builder and I didnt do it long. But if you're ever in Tahoe, hike Mt. Tallac. I helped build that trail
@oliviermilani39492 жыл бұрын
Yes sir!! Most ot the people don't think about that. I'm a trailbuilder in Switzerland. Some technics prevent erosion due to bikes like trail armoring (putting stones underground) but the main thing is to think from where it comes and why it creat erosion. Like steep straight lines are a nightmare. Try to make smoother lines and less agressive braking spots. Sustainable trails are the way to go!

Is it me or is there an obsession with “drifting” that is getting a little out of hand? I get it that you sometimes need to skid into a berm to burn off speed, but this guy is trying to roost every berm on a flow trail. I respect the skill required to do it, but why do it? It’s your trail, go ahead and rip it up I guess.

Not sure where this trail is - but would be fun! I know many are suggesting its in Marin (and it has that look and feel). I also wonder if it could be up by Crockett or even in Sonoma...? Obadiah - I literally live about 1/2 mile from JMP. I ride there - only if I have to. If you want some more fun try... 1. China Camp (San Rafael area) 2. Tamarancho (Fairfax) (and be sure to catch the Endor Flow Trail) 3. Annadel State Park (Santa Rosa) (my personal favorite) 4. Sequel Demo Forest (and the Flow and Braille trails) between San Jose and Santa Cruz
