This was so fun and relaxing to watch, particularly after a long, stressful week. Thank you for sharing your journey with us!

To make the connection in Boston more easily, leave the incoming train at Back Bay station; then you can take the Orange Line subway directly to North Station. In addition, Back Bay Station is adjacent to Copley Square, where you can see the Boston Public Library, Trinity Church, the John Hancock Tower, and Old South Church.

I always enjoy your videos and your tips on train travel. I take the Texas Eagle and the Cardinal at least once a year and your guidance has been invaluable. Would have loved to have seen more about Boston and Maine-maybe in a future video?

Maine is a beautiful state but November is the least likely time to visit. I know you often travel off season but please come back in the summer. It is beautiful. Try Castle Island Camps in the summer for a real Maine experience.

WOW, what a trip via Amtrak! Thanks for doing this. In 2025 or maybe 2026 (assuming Elon Musk doesn't kill off Amtrak to save money in the federal budget), I'm planning to take a trip on Amtrak from Charlotte to Washington where I'll spend a few days, then on to New York via the Acela where I'll spend a few more days with an old college buddy of mine. Then I'll fly back to Charlotte to get my car since I live in Knoxville where there is no Amtrak service.

If I wanted to ride coach solo but wanted to have the seat next to me vacant so I wouldn't have to sit next to a stranger, would it work to buy two tickets and reserve two side by side seats? Would the train conductor keep people from sitting in my vacant seat that I paid for? It seems that the two seats would cost less than a roomette but give me a little more space and privacy than a single coach seat. I just wonder if I would be fighting for my extra seat the whole way from Chicago to Seattle.
@tscoffey1Ай бұрын
This looks interesting. What were your ticket costs for the trip?

I have been watching multiple videos of yours. I so want to do a trip. My biggest fear is the food. What kind of accommodations do they have for people with allergies and very low carbohydrates. Can they make lettuce wrapped sandwiches (no wheat), no fruit, no rice or potatoes. Do they ever have hard boiled eggs cuz allergy to egg whites. Only breakfast item I’ve seen I could eat is bacon. Looks like only veggies they serve are carrots and green beans but do they ever have any others. Will they supply ice so my insulin doesn’t get too warm? Sounds like they can heat up food if I brought some of my own. I probably need to speak with Amtrak.
@cbtkw95Ай бұрын
I hope it's okay to ask, how do you get they money for all of these trips?
@ulalaaauАй бұрын
they probably have a amtrak credit card and use it on daily purchases then use the points they accumulate from that

I always want to ask, how is the soundproofing between rooms? Can you hear everything going on in the room next to you? I want to go on an Amtrak journey, but have the belief that it would be pretty loud (outside the train movement).

@sheilalaing8457Ай бұрын
I heard it's better to get off the backbay station . Is that true?
@ryanair9031Ай бұрын
if you're connecting to North Station, then yes. You can directly transfer to the MBTA Orange Line, which goes to North Station from Back Bay. If you get off at South Station, it's a bit nicer, but you have to take the Red Line to either the Green Line or the Orange Line to get to North Station (and it's a long walk through the station)

These long distance train trips are very likely to cease for at leas the next four years, and beyond if Republicans stay in control of Federal expenditures. Trump has long advocated the defunding of Amtrak,, and I fully anticipate that us older folks will only be able to travel in comfort by ship.
