Groundhog Day- Is the musical better than the movie?

Tim Minchin (songs) and Danny Rubin (writer) have turned the film Groundhog Day into a musical. Is it as funny and profound as the movie, or could it actually be funnier and deeper? Can Andy Karl as the egocentric TV weatherman erase the memory of Bill Murray in the movie? Tanisha Spring also stars. Matthew Warchus directs and Rob Howell provides the set design in this musical spectacular.

Only saw it yesterday after years of listening to the tracls on youtube. Loved it, the sets and physical comedy on stage were so great so see. And great review, I like how you touched on how the musical develops characters like Nancy and doesnt just focus on Phil.

saw this during previews in Australia, going to go back again, would go again and again and again and... again. it was Philnomenal (hah i find myself too funny), andy karl is brilliant, i fortunately got to meet him and elise mccann (she played rita) at stage door. LOVED IT. Also fantastic review.

i enjoyed the show a lot on Broadway. It closed to quickly. .I was very unsure going in but flipped coming out
