I think many of us fell into a trap of thinking that beating Burnley reserves might spark some kind of turning point, but we're at square one again. Even the press conferences of "we're against the odds" are incredibly negative, and it is translating onto the pitch. End of the 1st half, McGinn limps off, they're at 10 men. That is where you smell the blood and go for the kill. We chose to pass the ball around the back. These are the margins, and that's why we're looking doomed.

We started wasting time before half time, Villa down to 10 men for the last two minutes and all we did was pass the ball back and forwards on the half way line waiting for the half time whistle and the second half was just as bad, fake injuries to stop play, slow substitutions, Johnstone was lucky not to get booked with the time it took him to take goal kicks.

Firstly can i just show Gratitude.... for the High Respect given by every Wolves fan, towards Aston Villa & Birmingham born Gary Shaw. Showing Local Rivalry & football in General...can be 2nd to Life & Remembering the Dead. Thankyou Wolves .. you Oozed Class. Football opinion.. Yes Wolves were by far the best team in the 1st half, but for me they didn't do much with it. The Goal was gifted by Carlos being Clumsy at the back. A Tamed Header by Lamina that was caught by Martinez. & a deflected shot off Carlos went wide. was all that you gave us to think about. Villa Tweaked it between HT & say 60 mins... as wolves were constantly under threat. i think the game in the UCL was to blame for our off day... I.E traveling to Swis & back within days. but it isn't an excuse... we got through it in the end. Dave... Wolves need Goal scorers simple as that. We have Watkins, Ramsey, Rogers, Bailey, Duran, Youri, Onana. and many more who are capable of a goal. Today Wolves proved they have very little firepower. Goodluck & Thankyou again.

They got Unai Emery in the weeks before we got JLo - having waited and waited on him to make his mind up. Emery has been a brilliant solid appointment whereas JLo just saw Wolves as a stepping stone. Up until then the two clubs had been more or less on a par (we were slightly ahead in fact) but that's where our fortunes began to diverge dramatically. GON was then brought in only as a last minute stopgap. Instead of relying on him to us to the next level, we should already have been looking for a higher-level appointment. Moreover, the signs have been blinking red ever since the Coventry debacle when we collapsed against Championship opposition. I have never understood why GON got a nearly free pass after that disastrous performance. The way in which we threw it away already showed us that we were developing a losing mentality. A mentality that quickly set in. GON now has to go asap. If we don't sack him on Monday then we'll sack him after the Liverpool defeat instead.

Great first half, Unai Emery changed it halftime, substitutions, and probably a tactical switch to get them going, GON does not react to changes by opposing managers, by the time he has realised this we are losing the match, i know some fans will say too early to sack GON, but really is it, Liverpool next then Brentford before international break, first game after international break Man City, unless things suddenly start clicking and we improve for the full 90 minutes, Fosun can’t let it go for too long, and we find ourselves 10 - 15 points a drift at the bottom, we won’t get another Lopetegui to save us, personally i don’t want to see GON gone yet, but something needs to change and change very fast

Great first half but second half fitness told in the end and we were blown away by a rampant villa. The only saving grace is we have played 4 teams out the five who are all competing for champions league places. sat in the north stand listening to you lot for 60 minutes was rough. Felt like from where i was the fans were as flat as the team until then. I think you had us sussed first half more than us jsut not performing. I thnk Oniel is decent, but, all emery needs is a half time to change things and always has something up his sleeve. Were lucky it was only 1-0 to come back from. But i did enjoy the redemption and giving you back some medicne from 73 mins onwards. Unlucky but, i think it will come together for you, looked good against us, and Newcastle last week. Personally think you need to keep doing what your doing and it will come good. Entertaining to watch on tv against newcastle and didnt deserve to lose to them really. We had too much for you this weekend in the end but crack on and good luck for the rest of the season except for when you play us at your place ;)

Villa fan here, thought you did a number on us first half. 2nd half I think with the run you're on it was inevitable you would drop deeper to try and protect your lead & combined with us stepping up a gear or two, plus the fact we could bring Bailey, Maatsen, Barkley, Duran & Buendia off the bench changed everything. I think the whole ground sensed that if we got 1 we'd go onto win but to be fair we needed that bit of luck with the deflection to get the 1st. I rate O'Neil & considering the players you've had to sell over the last 2 summers it's a tough job but think you'll not have any serious relegation worries as the season goes on. Also there was great respect shown for Gary Shaw - something which should go without saying but sadly isn't always necessarily the case 👏

The reason for the sea-change during the game was Ross Barkley coming on. After that Villa controlled the midfield and we were able to get at your defence, which just folded. I sincerely hope that your results do pick up though - I'd much rather see proper teams with real history like Wolves and Everton in the top flight than crappy little Southern clubs like Brentford, Palace, Fulham, Bournemouth and Southampton. @elliotmarr1135 I'm of the same feeling. Our beginning fixtures are shocking, probably deliberate as Wolves stood up against the VAR corruption. So the powers that be, were likely hoping that Wolves would suffer the way we are currently. Personally though I don't feel changing GON will solve the problem. If Moyes or Potter were to take over, they too would soon get fed up and agitated by this self sustainable policy from the owners. Then come May, even if we stayed up, they would be off probably and were back at square one again. The owners attitude towards the club management and funding is the key issue. Villa, second half, battered us because they have invested in their squad. They diversified their team and raised their bar. Fair play to them. Now we watch our players drop with injuries every couple of weeks (yet again) and by Christmas will be pulling out the teenagers for the bench! We don't actually belong in the PL if that's our owners strategy. That's what's so frustrating. We sell our best players and I wouldn't be surprised if Cunha, Ait Nouri and Andre are all off before the seasons out! Who's going to want to play in the Championship? None of them!

Fair play to Wolves for the 1st half performance,you had Villa under the cosh,but luckily for us we've got an elite manager in Unai Emery who identified the problem & fixed it like he does so often & Villa looked more like themselves in the 2nd half & took the game to Wolves, clinical finishing won the 3 points for us & we're showing how resilient we are after the last 2 games coming back from being down & not letting it get us down,a real togetherness & a complete change in mentality under Emery, respect to Wolves fans for showing unity in the memory of the late Villa legend Gary Shaw.... up the fuck'in Villa!!! 😁⚽💜💙✌️💪🔥

Villa fan here- top class with the respect shown for Gary Shaw.. As for the game- said to my Wolves mate, that first 45 is the best i’ve seen any team play at Villa Park (inc Arsenal, City et al).. I also said to him at half time, it’s a good bad half- good that you dominated, bad that you didn’t go in 3 up.. You’ve had some tough fixtures to start, but if you continue to play like that first 45, you’ll smash the lesser teams.. Anyways, good luck for the rest if the season UTV..
