Actually US Soldiers have the highest suicide rate at a current average of 22 a day. Farming is one of the things that saved my life. Thanks for all the help over the last 7 years! I have been following Ridgedale since I first ran across the channel. Congrats on your success sir. It is well deserved and hard earned.

Your videos and talks are awesome. This video and your channel in general has such a good balance between the general “why” of farming and the details needed to make the dream a reality. Thank you so much!

Assuming your broiler production season is 6 months (it's probably less in Sweden), you'd need to sell about 900 birds per month (or 225 per week) to get to 4,500 birds total (slaughtered at 8 weeks old). That's a LOT of direct marketing work - not to be underestimated. Selling through a wholesaler would be far easier but less profitable. Labour is also important to factor into profitability as trying to do all of this on your own would be a recipe for burnout. Not wanting to be a naysayer, it's just worth putting it into perspective. What you've achieved is incredible and you make it look super easy Richard!

Obviously a lot of thought has gone into your production systems. I’m still hung on the use of imported grain which is presumably grown with methods that deplete the soil and/or other natural resources. Completing the cycle would require the use of human sewage products which are contaminated with metals, PFAS, and other substances. Oceangoing animal or plant products may be a partial solution. Any other ideas for completing the production cycle without further depleting limited resources?

Gabe Brown is a Regenerative agriculture guy in North Dakota that grows his own grain to feed his pastured chicken. You should check out his methods of grain growing that Don't deplete the soil

Fun Fact, carbon is a toxin sink. If you can get your property as high in carbon as possible, there is the possibility that the carbon will absorb and break down toxins into nontoxic elements that can be used. I would advise in doing your research on that one.

@pguk83 Жыл бұрын
I think there is a video of the pond going in on his channel, where from memory, he used 2m kaolin rolls laid down by machinery which form a waterproof seal. The stuff isn't cheap, but it's effective. It was a very large pond and 'gleying' that sort of area would be a task and a half!

Probably like alot of people tired of being restricted, cant show this cant say that. If you make your own platform that's user supported you can show what you want and say what you want because no 3rd party exists to say otherwise. Just you and your viewers running the show and frankly that's better for everyone except the 3rd party.
