scaler is usually the answer (because differing source resolutions/frame rates is usually the problem)

What is the brand name and cost of the switcher/scaler that you currently use?

Is there a term for switchers that don't disconnect when switched?

i'm not sure exactly what causes that, but when i look for switchers that are hdcp compliant, it tends to resolve the issue and devices maintain that extended desktop setting even when the switch isn't active on that device.
