Your Firebird mock up looks good. David Parsley did a fine job on his version of the Blazer. BG also built that Blazer kit. He did it as a life guard rescue truck. Take good care Kim.

I don't do model contests. But it seems that there should be classes for original styrene-only kits, as well as those for kits using multimedia. Those who don't use multimedia shouldn't be penalized compared to the others. As to group builds, I don't see a problem with "how many". Just choose which ones you want to participate, you don't need to try to take part in all.

Nice 3-d parts, gonna look good. Gotta get me some Supertrapps for a model down the line (some day , haha) That 49' looks tempting but I promised myself not to stash up to much on my recent return to the modelling world, so... Thanks for the update.

I might have seen a couple of 49 Merc GB videos. I found one of my old AMT 49 Merc kits that needs to be built, but I'm not sure yet how I'm going to do it. This is also the time of the year when I'm overwhelmed with birthday gift builds (from December through June), so that is another reason why I haven't announced joining the 49 Merc GB. I'm leaning towards an overly simplistic build on the 49 Merc. My father's first car in high school was a 49 Mercury, which he chopped, lowered and shaved in his high school auto-shop class, back in the mid-1950s. Sadly, he learned a hard lesson when he let one of his friends use the car during lunch break, the guy never came back. Turned out the guy was racing it, lost control and smashed the car into a building in Barstow, California.

Thanks for the update. I have joined alot of gb's this yeah and I don't think I'll have time to join yours I guess I have to see if I can. And 3d parts I don't mind..I think they make the model look more realistic.

I was going to make a video on 3D printing, i recorded the video. I watched the raw footage, and decided i didn't want to get myself banned from KZbin on one video, so I opted not to post it. Firebird is off to a nice start.

Pertaining to 3D parts, fine by me, no different than the resin cast parts, they should put them in a special class for judging in contests. As far as contest, I can live without them, I have found them to be nothing more than clique clubs, don't like them, don't need them. It is nice to see others work, but, nothing after that, no use to the hobby in any way at all. On Group builds, I have to say that "YES," there are W-A-Y to many group builds. Every one with a channel thinks that they must have one and every one thinks they have to be in them all! Good Grief People! It is the politics and soap opera atmosphere that shoots it in the foot for me. Very much like the show/contests. It is very nice to see the work and share the ideas, but after that all bets are off. The hype kills it for me, that is the "clique groupies do. Okay, done with the soap operas and politics. Now, on to the GOOD Stuff!! The Firebird is looking killer, i agree with your choice of no spoiler, perhaps a rim change too? Ah! The Vending Machine, YES! You are correct in that this is fiddly. I built it w-a-y back, which is why I have two of them in the stash, one as is and the other as a Frostie Root Beer! I Love that kit! It is up there with the Orange Crate!! HA! The little Ford pick up is looking real serious, I like the stance and flames, very cool! Those 3D parts are really sharp! The detail they can get is fantastic! I don't see the problem with 3D parts, they are sharper in detail than resin. I would think that much better for the detailing crowd for sure! I like that Your in with Dave on the Emergency/Fire truck building, Dave is a real nice Guy. Hey Kim, I don't have a tube channel but I will build a '49 Mercury with You. Which kit should I use? I have several of the AMT and the one Revell kit. I really like that You are taking the time and consideration to make and share videos with Us here in tubeland. Take Care, Be Safe, God Bless, Later
