these are some nice horses but as an icelander who's grown up with icelandic horses, i doubt many of these guys were untamed, especially the ones who kept checking for treats. untamed icelanders, unless they were raised in a stall or raised by a very calm and nice mother, usually try to avoid humans best as possible still, any encounter with icelandic horses should be cherished since this is an incredible breed : )

maybe they've had so many interactions with humans they know they get good things when humans come around ? it happened with the toads outside my house 🤷♀️
@julieenslow59154 жыл бұрын
They were clearly familiar with humans, but I had no idea there was such a range of colors. And the temperament displayed when unfamiliar humans came up and started touching them was so very sweet and tolerant. I think I am in love with this breed!

If you look closely there is a separate group by the outcropping of rocks and they are using their ipads on a zoom conference. I am afraid these horses knew humans all too well.

@Tyranozaver BEAUTIFUL horses, and I love the coloring and thick manes. They look like a slightly stockier version of the American Quarter Horse, don't you think? Are they their own separate breed (i.e. Icelandic), or are they a specific breed that was transplanted to Iceland many years ago?
@JurijAzmanMomirski4 жыл бұрын
Its a special breed, born and raised in Iceland, i dont think it was transplaned. :)
@1cruzbat14 жыл бұрын
The vikings brought their best horses to Iceland from northern European breeds when they settled Iceland. There were no horses "native" to Iceland. For over a thousand years they have been isolated there where the climate and man have molded the now recognized breed the Icelandic horse. Now other horses are allowed in Iceland.

There is no wild and untamed horses in Iceland. All horses have owners. If you went through fences to get to them they are obviously not wild. It’s illegal to go through fences and in to peoples private property

Generalizing humans is pretty ignorant. There is a law of attractions, the more you focus on something the more it becomes a part of your own reality. It's beneficial to have a more positive frame of mind.
@mariosmatzoros35535 жыл бұрын
The only reason they are peaceful and caring is because they're not capable of understanding anything that's more complex. Animals are simple creatures that rely on their instincts whereas humans are logical creatures.
