In the first example, what if we prove a+b belongs to H instead of a-b belongs to H??

I don't even understand if H is just a subset of G then how come a-b belongs to H, lets take H={0,1,2,3,4}, H is subset of Z but we can clearly see that for any a, b the substruction a-b does not belongs to H.? If have you reconciled the doubt, please reply.

@@inquiringhuman2582 H is a subset of G, but H itself is a group[.i.e satisfied all conditions closure, associative, identity existing,inverse of all elements existing] then we can say that H is a subgroup of G....bhai tmhara example mien H group hi nhi hai first thing bcoz H not satisfied closure property toh bada set G ka subgroup kaise hoga .... H khud ek group hona chahiye and subset of G tbhi hi woh a-b belong to H wala condition lga k subgroup prove krte hai
