I would be interested to know whether the mice would eat the grass potatoes if there were no straw potatoes available, maybe a repeat this year ?

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. If you removed the lower hanging "fruit" would they be willing to dig in the grass?

Been thinking about switching back to in/on ground potato growing. I experimented with potato towers 3 years in a row and it seems like I don't have much luck with that :D
