Once any user after reaching to the landing page by clicking ad, clicks on CTA of Facebook group, won't that link of the group will open in their browser rather than Facebook app. Just to clear, here I am talking about mobile users. And I believe, mostly mobile users are using Facebook app rather than using Facebook on their mobile's browser.

Excellent point Martin thank you very much I would definitely use that. I think using landing page may help to exclude people who has visit the page and clicked on the JOIN MY GROUP button to save us some money. We could also send audience to a chatbot instead of a landing page to make our chabot subscription list while promoting our group.

You can exclude the [people who has visited your landing page AND clicked on the JOIN MY GROUP button] and you could also exclude people from your email list. Just create a custom audience with the help of FB pixel and Google Tag Manager. It may not work 100% on iOS due to Apple's policy but I think it's still pretty good.

Hey Will - the only reason is because we can’t track conversions when we’re sending straight from the landing page to the group. If you do it by collecting email addresses first, then promoting the group I’d switch to conversions

There’s no way to do that, but you could create a Facebook group where anyone can go live in your group

Sure! You start a campaign with the engagement objective. In the ad set settings select the engagement type “on my ad” and the optimization goal will include an option for “group joins”. You can only run Facebook placements not Instagram. Some pages aren’t elegible but it’s unclear what makes a page/group eligible or ineligible. It’s a new ad type so you might need to ask support if you run into issues.

Or you could just easily do a like campaign to a page and then invite members who have already liked your page to your group. Not hard.

To close the loop on this for anyone reading this, here’s why this is a bad idea: To invite people who follow your page to join your group you would have to use an organic post on the page. The problem with that is on average, less than 5% of your page followers see your organic posts. That means that for every 100 followers you buy with ads, 5 see your invite to join your group (at best). Extremely inefficient and just doesn’t work.
