WATER! The essence of life. It's what keeps the grass alive, and ever thickening.

Beautiful turf. Do you or your associates manage any sports turf fields? Would like to see a video about management practices for those turf fields. Thanks for the content

Thank you for watching! Kris definitely has some great looking turf. We don't manage any sports turf fields, but from a content perspective the folks at the GCI Turf KZbin channel (@GCITurf) have videos about sports field management practices that are really well done. Hope this helps!

Would you recommend mushroom soil or regular top soil as a top dressing for my fall overseeding project? I usually use Peat moss, but want to put down some soil this year. Tnx.

I've seen success with both and think that either would work for you as long as you focus on good seedbed prep, are using the recommended seeding rate, and have good soil to seed contact. I'd love to hear back which way you go and how it works! Thanks for watching!

Question…at 0:59 there appears to be some type of green algae there on the top layer of the soil. I have that same algae looking thing on isolated parts of my lawn. I’m trying to find out what exactly that is, where it comes, how to treat it ect… thank you
@jessclark9852 ай бұрын
I think it’s just due from overwater/standing water. I have the same thing next to my garage where my sprinklers hit the side of the garage and water pools in the shade of the garage wall. I’ve adjusted my sprinkler’s throw and then just hand water that area if I notice it’s too dry.

In this lawn, there wasn't any algae, but I agree with @jessclark985 that algae growth is typically tied to excess moisture or poor drainage, and irrigation or moisture management is typically the answer.
