Hmmm..... But it is possible to get mature branch of avocado for grafting ? And also 8-10 years is very long period. It won't be able to grow pot. You have to give space in ground.

Hi Prakriti, I am a senior citizen and enjoy following you. Ihad got an avocado from my cousin's garden in Bangalore and planted it's seed. It sprouted when I had almost given up hope ! It is now about 3-4 yr old - still in a pot. Wud like to send you a pic....where can I send it? I think it needs to be planted in the ground now, but I'm afraid to disturb it lest it dies on me!! Will it fruit in Mumbai weather ? In Bangalore the original tree bore avacados bigger than I've seen !

Plant saplings usually grow from most of the seeds, even from thrown away mango seeds after eating, question is will it bear fruits?

Seed grown plants always bear fruit, they just takes time to start fruiting and fruit quality can't be guaranteed as they use to be open pollinated. There use to be 50 : 50 probability of quality, either good or bad.

Every plant bear fruit for propagating themselves, and breeders develop new varieties by cross pollinating flowers and growing plants from the seed obtained from the pollination. Grafting is just meant to get early fruiting and guarantee fruit quality
