I grew cool annuals this spring, after I heard about them. This year I'm starting in the fall. In 8b Central Texas, I have to wait until the triple-digit temperatures fall, but I'm ordering seeds now. Can't wait to plant, but I will try to be patient.

It's always hard to exercise patience ;) especially when it comes to flowers! Best of luck to you!!

Great job of explaining cool hardy annuals! I would've missed my window of planting if I had not watched this today. Thank you!

Great video! I learn something new each time I watch. I will be starting my cool flowers transplants soon to be ready to plant late Sept. (first frost Nov 15).

Can you do a video on plants you plant in succession and which ones you just plant once a season?

Love all the info. Going to start my own on a smaller scale for the enjoyment. Unfortunately the Cool book is no longer available on Amazon. So bummed bc many ppl I follow also suggest this book. Must be getting popular. 😊 Thank you for sharing.

Excited for you! That’s a bummer with the book but check back often because I know they do restock it quite a bit 💛

It’s getting close to spring now, too late for fall planting for me. What cool flowers do you start in early spring before the last frost?
@twosistersflowerfarm
@twosistersflowerfarm Жыл бұрын
We plant much of the same as we do in the fall- a spring succession of black eyed Susan’s, snapdragons, feverfew, etc 💛

Thank you for a great informative video. If you don't mind, which snap dragons do you plant in the fall and do you need to cover them in winter?
@twosistersflowerfarm
@twosistersflowerfarm 2 жыл бұрын
Snapdragons are one of the hardiest flowers you can plant- winter hardy to zone 3! BRRR! So nope, I don't cover them at all, and they do just fine. I plant a mix of them all- chantilly, costa, madame butterfly's and potomac :) The chantilly and costa's tend to bloom sooner than the rest, but they all seem to overwinter just fine (at least that is my experience) Good luck!

When growing fall snapdragons do you plant seeds or seedlings in the September time you mentioned?
@twosistersflowerfarm
@twosistersflowerfarm 2 жыл бұрын
I always plant seedlings 🌱 Snapdragon seed is so tiny that I’m not sure how well it would go direct seeded- might be worth an experiment 😉💛

@@twosistersflowerfarm Such great information. I've got Lisa's book in my Amazon cart! YOu said you plant seedlings out in the fall, what size of seedlings are you typically planting? Just a couple sets of true leaves? Excited to try overwintering snaps this year.

@@GardenHands yay, so excited for you! Yep, just a few sets of true leaves is all you need 💛
