Native to Sub-Saharan Africa, the Kiwano is also known as horned melon, African horned cucumber, jelly melon and melano. Sometimes also “blowfish fruit” because it looks like a blowfish!
Its taste is mild to slightly citrus, a sort of mix between lemon, kiwi, and cucumber
It's delicious in combination with ice cream, sorbets, or yogurt!

Good question! Two years on, only one plant survived. The little trunk is robust, but there is no sign of fruit yet. I wonder if it needs its companions and maybe more sun. The plant lives well indoors but it's not massive. I guess there is always hope, but in theory, they should fruit quite quickly... However, mine is still considering what to do.
