I think the reasonings people give themselves regarding taking care of their hair is what's hindering them from progression. Don't trim your hair "because it helps it grow". Don't get protective styles and be convinced "This will make my hair grow". You trim your hair because you want to get rid of dead ends, as a result, your hair retains length. If you stop trimming your hair, you will lose It later on down the road, unfortunately. You get protective styles because you will keep your hands out your hair, therefore it grows. I know its just a language thing, but I do think an altered mindset while trying to grow your hair is helpful. (This is to whoever reads and can identify with saying "This will make my hair grow") Hair is always growing.

I have attempted to transition FOUR (4) times. Like one, two, three, four. FOUR. Only now do i feel like i have a basic understanding of my hair. First 3 times was pure hell. My hair loses moisture really quickly and although i had the right products i didn't really know how to use them or what my specific hair needs were. (Yes, i was a victim of type 3 influencers) so id give up and just go back to relaxers. This time, number 4, I purposely looked for people whose hair looked like mine, kinky coily 4c. You were the most identical so you became my closest point of reference. Three things i have implemented that have WORKED 1. GREASE. Specifically sulphur 8. Ahil i will more than gladly die on (I mix sulphur 8, onion + garlic oil and blue magic.) My hair is sooooooooffft. I'm a walking fluff cloud. Keeping my hands out of my hair is so difficult whenever i wear it out it feels so *GOOD* 2. Sulphate shampoos. my scalp is CLEAN CLEAN. My hair hardly ever feels dry or greasy. It just feels clean. 3. Leaving my hair tf alone. I'm not a hair influencer, i don't need to be styling it every week. Once a month, I do a fuuuulll extra ass wash day with masks and everything then heatless style in mini braids (no added hair) and seal with grease. from then on i just shampoo, condition every 10 or so days. I have never seen my hair grow this fast. THANK YOU SO MUCH ZARA!!!

I just find that putting water on my hair makes it more drier and my hair stay more moisturized when I eliminate putting excess water on my hair. Actually I believe that this is in part because of our low porosity hair it takes my hair a really really long time for the water to actually fully penetrate my hair when I shampoo my hair I spend at least 15 or 20 minutes just allowing the water to fully penetrate my hair with really very very warm as warm or hot as I can take it so spraying my hair everyday even with hot water I feel like just is not effective because it makes my hair more tired that's just my opinion and what I have experienced so maybe you could let me know how you feel about that if you know others that have experienced the same issue with putting water on their hair everyday I know it certain product they do say for you too make sure your hair is fully drenched and that's okay I do that but for people that say oh I spray my hair everyday with water to keep it moisturized I I haven't found that to be effective anyway love you girl love your videos keep them coming you are you are truth and I love the truth all right take care

Girl... First breath out. Secondly, you still have chances of fixing this minor problem. Alot say chebe is very drying, thats why deep conditioners, and conditioners are your best friend. Try mixing moisturizing oils together and do a hot oil treatmeant weekly. Always leave-in + cream + oil. Also, jamaican black castor oil is perfect for thin, nonexistent edges lol. It did wonders to my hair and lashes. My hair is waistlength because of this routine. Good luck.

You know what... I’m going to make a video answering the most asked questions about grease because this is a good one. I reseal whenever my scalp feels dry. Hey Zara thanks for this. I have high porosity, fine 4c hair that’s prône tangles especially when I shampoo. I see that you recommend grease but you have low porosity hair. You also use sulphate shampoos which I find very drying. Could you recommend a hair routine for me please. Thanks!

If your hair stays moisturized without the grease then I don't think you need to use it. My hair hates shampoos also so I stick to products that wash out easily and I cowash using shampoos occasionally and my hair does great

Hmmmmm.... I think it would be good for you to use castille soap and dilute it in water oooor you can use a shampoo bar. I also really like the shea moisture black soap shampoo, it's not drying but it is amazing for the scalp. If you don't have scalp issues, you don't need it. Don't shampoo everyweek, maybe use a cleansing conditioner most times, and then shampoo once every two weeks or once a month. I don't always shampoo out grease, sometimes I just condition my hair and re-moisturize/re-grease. (Kinda cray but it works for me.) Aussie moist is a great conditioner for EVERYONE and I recommend it to all. Shea Moisture still has their "high porosity" line in circulation so you might consider trying that entire line and seeing if it works for you. A good leave-in is Obia as it's pH balanced. You may find that you like camille rose products as well because they work really well on my sister (whose hair is not lo-po). Grease to seeeeal please dear. That will actually keep your high-po hair in check. I HATE COCONUT OIL but if your hair is truly high-po, it will probably love it. That could help with the structural integrity of your hair, and would make a great pre-poo and potentially a great "O" in an LCO or LOC method, regimen. This is what I've got for now but I will do more research to help out my high-po friends 💖

Hi, Hair grease has helped seal in moisture and keep my hair smooth which means no breakage. Also, a number of your vlogs have been educational as I have questioned a number of notions from the afro hair community and I was glad someone was able to provide answers.

I absolutely love your videos! Thank you for all your advice. I am finally feeling comfortable with my relationship with my hair. Regarding those of us who currently did the big chop and are growing out our hair. What recommendations do you have for protective styling? My hair is not long enough for twists or braids.

I WISH wash and gos worked for me 😂 If I do so, my hair will shrink by over 50% and I'll get a ton of knots.

I went to rewatch your video all about grease and i realised you didn't do the video about what you mix in with Sulfur8 and I wondered if you'll end up doing it. Ps: I love how your hair looks

So you recommend if I do a twist out to leave the twists in for a couple days and then retwisting? Or just not doing it at all? Also what hairstyles do U recommend to do throughout the week with natural hair (without extensions since we’re in quarantine I don’t have any lol)?

I L O V E Y O U I watched every single video, it's a blessing. I just have a question, I speak French and I don't really understand how to use grease, is it only on the scalp or do you use it in another way? Will show us by a video? Thanks for all

Hey I said this in a video I just watched that you posted ages ago, I unfortunately can’t use MSM cause I’m allergic to sulfur. Could you suggest an alternative?
