Awesome! As the TatorCrusader I'm hoping you have a great harvest for the year. Mine are exploding out of my buckets here, and are doing fantastic. Thanks for watching!

How do you know it's time to harvest the potatoes? Thank you for such a great video!!🥔🥔

When they begin to die back and look sickly, then it’s time! I could’ve let those buckets go even a week or two longer, and they still would’ve turned out great. Hope that answers your question! Thanks for watching!

@theidahopanhandlers You did, thank you so much!! Time to see if I grew any potatoes. I'll let you know tonight. 🤞🙏🏼🤞💙🩷🩵

I had about 20 potatoes. Some were so very tiny I almost missed them. I'm so proud of my 1st home grown I don't care what size they are. I've tried growing them before three years/ seasons & I got nothing. So I'm really proud!!🥔@DannyJSchaefer

I love your enthusiasm! So, you asked for advice..... I feel you should have had a little more yield for the effort you put in. With that said, Good job for your first time! you got way more than I did on my first try. I know that you said you watered that morning, but it looked to me like you may have been watering to much throughout the season. Also, I feel that your soil was a tad on the dence/heavy side. ~Namaste

Hey there! Thanks for dropping by, watching, and for the advice. Sorry for taking a bit to get back to you 😊 I saw your comment when you posted it and have watered less and less since then. However, it's the end of the growing season here so I'll likely incorporate your advice to next year's crop. I'm going out this morning to film this year's harvest and I'm hoping for some good results! I planted 4-5 times more potatoes this year so I'm really hoping for some results. Thank you so much for watching and for the advice!

Great video walking us through the process start to finish! I think we saw some of these before, but I could be losing my marbles. Thank you for all the information you provided! We cannot wait to start our garden next season! Are you still thinking about building the bigger enclosed garden structure? As always, thank you for all your hard work and sharing this process with us. We hope you enjoy all your spuds!!!

I definitely would like to make a bigger structure! We'll see if it actually happens though!

Did you make a video showing what you did with the half you prepared to use as seed potatoes in 2024? What you did, how you stored them until it was time to use them.
@theidahopanhandlers3 ай бұрын
Hey there sorry for taking a couple of days to get to this. I did not make a video of how I stored my potatoes. It was my first year growing them and we had an awesome turnout, but I didn't feel confident in advising people how to store them when I hadn't done it myself yet. For seed potatoes and once cured I took all of the smaller (egg sized) ones, wrapped them in newspaper, labeled them, and actually put them in the refrigerator in one of our drawers. You don't want your refrigerator too cold, and I believe I had ours turned up to 37 degrees. Just make sure they don't freeze! I would check out some other KZbin videos on potato curing after harvest. Ours turned out great and lasted a long time, but I'm sure there's a good video out there to explain it.

Good job... questions: Did you ever fertilize again AND how often did you water? Glad I found your channel. :)
@theidahopanhandlers4 ай бұрын
The only time I fertilized was when I initially planted the seed potatoes, and then again with blood and bone meal when I filled the containers the rest of the way when the plants were growing wild out of the containers. I also water daily in the summer time. Does this answer your questions? Thanks so much for watching and I'm happy to have you along!

Nice haul! Good eatin’ time! How’s the camper coming along?
@theidahopanhandlers Жыл бұрын
Thanks Jerry! We've been enjoying them from time to time. The camper progress has been slow to be honest. I've been too focused on all of the outdoor projects/hiking around and have put it on the back burner. However, I have it tucked away in the garage and ready to go.. and with winter on its way here in North Idaho all of my attention is going straight to that little RV. Did I see somewhere that you're going to be doing one of the big 3 hiking trails next season?
@tangenttrails Жыл бұрын
@@theidahopanhandlers Not any of the Triple Crown Trails. Just the Ouachita and the Colorado Trail.
