Very nice. I'm doing the same with four buckets, but those pvc elbows are expensive so I'm using netcups or maybe pieces of wire to hold the rockwool in place. Yours is the only tower on youtube with buckets; great idea, self-reliance is everything about Freedom. ciao.

My tower was similar: water distribution is key. The tinyholes should work better like he has here. Ive got a question though; how does one scale this up? At 2a per pump (not to mension pump price), 10 towers in your already at 20 amps. The average stove with all burners turned on is rated for 50A. How can we build this same setup using the kratky method? That way if the breaker gets tripped, we still have our water source. I really liked this method, price and ziptie time asside. This project needs to evolve to kratky somehow. Thanks for the video! Next year im sproutong my seeds in sand with a peroxide type bottle on its side with holes in the bottom.

A family of 6 requires more than 4,000,000 calories per year. A pound of potatoes contains about 350 calories. To feed a family of 6 on just potatoes would work out to be about 12,500 lb. Under grow light, you might be able to produce 6 crops of potatoes per year. Assuming your tower can produce 50 pounds per crop, whuch is highly unlikely, You still come up more than 12,000 pounds short. By the way, I think your design is great! It certainly could produce enough greens to add to your diet.

Sorry, but this isn’t giving power to the people! This makes people tied into corporate entities for simple growing needs that are freely available all around us. This Tower Garden copy like the original Tim Blanks Tower Garden distracts people from growing with soil. Growing vertically with soil can do everything this unit can do only better on sooo many levels. Cheaper, far less energy used, no need for pumps and electrical cords, way better for the Planet. Make soil like your Life depends on it because in all reality it does! There’s a far better way to grow “organic” food no matter where you live, but guess what hydroponic, aeroponics and even aquaponics isn’t the answer, soil based units are and soon I hope everyone know this. Your mission is a noble one, but your approach in my opinion is not because once again your Tower distracts people from making soil.
