I love that your channel exists for 2 reasons: 1. You're living proof that women with 4c hair can grow it long. I'm tired of people saying that 4c hair can't grow. 2. You're living proof that it's possible to wear your hair out and still retain length. I hate the widely accepted notion that kinky hair must be in protective styles 90% of the time to get it to grow. Anyway, thank you for making this channel and for all your help. 💜

Fatima Manneh Your hair is breaking off.
@xtelfolaj7 жыл бұрын
Fatima Manneh if it genetics, are other people in your family having sloe growth? 7 years is a really long time to grow to collar bone length. I agree with the other lady , your hair sounds like its breaking . my hair grows a 1/4" a month but I got to collar bone in less than year and a half.
@xtelfolaj7 жыл бұрын
I agree with your second point. I honestly dont like protective styling . if I can find a way to way my hair out without getting breakage I would be so happy. Whats the point of going natural if nobody can see your hair.
@gigglyfitzgirl7 жыл бұрын
xtel folaj YES! Your last sentence! I like some protective styles like wigs and crochet braids but I'm always happier when I wear my hair out. But I could never retain length that way. I was getting so frustrated cause I felt like to grow a centimeter I had to wear a wig for months. 😒 But now I wear my hair out all the time. Wash and gos, updos, braidouts. And I'm retaining my length and getting virtually no breakage. This only started happening at the end of August this year and I've been natural since 2012. 😩 I've found that deep conditioning with heat made the difference. My hair isn't fragile and brittle anymore and my curls pop more too. I'm 4a/4b.
@xtelfolaj7 жыл бұрын
gigglyfitzgirl I find that in the summer time my hair dries out within a day but in the winter my hair stay moisturize for the week. My hair grows faster when i leave it alone But I need to know how to strengthen it because I get big afros when I thread my hair but that requires combing and I dont know how to maintain my ends in that state. But I'm glad you can find a balance I stopped wear wigs because it took my edges with it😩. But I've only been wearing chunky twist inna bun but man I feel free when my hair is in anytype of Afro undefined, twist out, braids, flat twist out😍

I am guilty of my scarf on my edges😰😰😰no lie I was laying here with my scarf tightly hugging my edges ..when i saw you said try it around your forehead area i hurried up n sat up n changed it😌😅😳but it all make sense cause you could be cutting off the blood circulation on your edges from growing...and i never thought about it that way...thank you so much😘😍😊

I just use JBCO on my edges. You are mentioning again , as in another video, that 2x's dark JBCO is "Better" than regular JBCO. Do you have any medical proof that the darker it is, the more effective? You are the first person I've hears say this. One thing you mentioned adding Aloe Vera gel which I think is beneficial.
@CravingCurlyKinks7 жыл бұрын
+Deirdre Gaskin I don't have a medical proof. Any JBCO would be just as great. The extra dark one is a personal favorite. There is a believe that the way they process JBCO holds more nutrition so maybe the extra dark one even more nutrition.
