I tuned into this episode of your podcast as I was running I80 from Pittsburgh Pa to Chicago IL. The end segment hit me most with just turning 25 I never ran a manual until I started a job in 2017-2018. My first time was a 99 F550 5speed and now I’m running regional with an 18speed. I’d like to think kids younger than me would be able to figure it out if they really needed to but I might be giving these kids to much credit

you are so spot on with the freezer we had a 1954 co-op it was one of the first things grandpa bought when they got power. we had an energy audit first thing they beat up on. It died in 2019 we bought a commercial one to replace it the old one was 54 cubic ft.

We bought all Ford's, tw35s and tw25s 9 new ones every year. The Ford's burnt half the fuel with 2x lugging power compared to a international or Deere. That's why we ran them.

Here in North Yorkshire UK we had largely Ford tractors, the dealers were great which is awesome when the diff lock is made of plasticine. A neighbour I worked for had a 1056 xl and a 1455 4wd, they made me hate the Ford's. Surely the Q cab was named ironically?
