First time to visit your site! I love it! Plus, you are so pleasant to listen to. I live in Alaska!!! so we do good to get one harvest in our very short summer. I container plant most of my plants. I also have a sunroom which stretches the season quite a bit, and a greenhouse for tomatoes. We have from late May to end of August to plant and harvest whatever. Mostly cold weather crops! However, with our extremely long summer days (24 hours in June) plants grow very fast and mature early. I am amazed at the size of the veggies that will grow here! Many are entered in the state fair. They have had 120-pound cabbage, 600-pound pumpkin. 20-pound beets and onions, and fifty-pound squash and zukes entered in the fair. Of course, these things have been babied and treated very special. I don't know if I would eat any of them, but they are cool to see!! We usually get our first frost in Sept. and first snow in Oct. The snow will stay around until late April or early May. The saving graces that we have are the wild editable plants that grow here. There are tons of them!! They have become my passion!!! Many of them are delicious! Anyway, I just felt like sharing this with you! Hope you enjoy it and get a few laughs from it. Keep on keeping on Girl!!!
@TheScaredyCatGardener2 жыл бұрын
Oh wow! 24 hours in June. That’s wonderful. I have seeds for Alaska Giant Cabbage. The pack says it can grow in excess of 70 pounds. It never gets too cold here. Probably in the teens is as low as it gets. Do you have any suggestions on me growing this cabbage in a container. I’m more interested in growing an enormous cabbage in a container in North Carolina than I am eating it 😂😂 I think it will be fun and Welcome to The Scaredy Cat Crew.
