I learned many years ago with my business, that having consistent social interactions even for routine bank stuff, with my bank. Made a huge difference when the inevitable mistakes happen. Instead of it taking 2-3 weeks sometimes to solve errors. I can often get stuff cleared up in a half hour to a day. Cause they know me, they don't have to question who is this person.

Let me know if ya ever want to come and see my family shop, been around since 1926 in the same building we're in today, plus an additional one next door. Some old school WW2 era equipment and obviously modern CNC equipment. Still have the wheels on the ceiling from when the machines steam and belt driven and the oldest working freight elevator in the city!

John and Jon, I just submitted my purchase order for a TM-0P, I am incredibly inspired by both of you and will be taking advantage of all the technology I’ve discovered through your videos and resources. Young machinists will owe you a lot whether they’d like to admit it or not.

Great video. Having a father or family member that is an experienced manager and or accountant seems to be a huge advantage. This reminds me to be grateful of all the business knowledge my father gave me. My general take away is; look at what unique advantages you have and utilise them. Geographic location, creative personality, business and technology skills etc. Every little confidence booster helps. -Ken

I am small and after getting a good customer base and product line built up I now deal with our local credit union. They are very easy to work with and have great rates.

I think key for any startup is sales. you have to know who your customer is and how you meet them when they are shopping. Having a product like gunparts or machine fixtures makes thing easier imho.

Always love hearing about Area 419's progress, a little envious as per usual, but always shows me what is possible with what I know already.

Essentially, be in the market and do what you do. If you're good at what you do, you might get lucky and find your niche.
