I shot this over several days to show how easy it is to grow this plant from regular fennel seeds used in cooking.

The next time you go to a Chinese Restaurant to eat, ask for chop sticks. They make great tools for poking holes in dirt (peat pellets) and for pricking out sprouted seedlings to plant into those little holes you just made. Enjoy and thanks for sharing

This was one of the best videos I've seen on growing fennel. I'ld guess the same process will work with other herb seeds too! The smell of fennel is so sweet I love it!

Yes you are right i did the same with fenugreek and coriander.

The best video about growing fennel from seed. I happen to have a bag of fennel seeds from the kitchen cabinet. Save me buying from the garden centre. Thanks so much! :)

Never thought to use seeds from the pantry. Good idea ! Will try that from now on.

from what i found, it means you should transplant them soon. i don't know how warm it it where you are, but it's heading into winter here and its not warm enough for me to grow them now. if it's hot where you are and you can keep them around 20C and give them sunlight, they should be okay.

l just use egg shell (poke some holes all over) to hold the soil and seed, and later transfer/dump the whole thing into the new big pot🙂

What a load of messing about all you need is either a flat tray or very small pots to put seeds in. Two to four seeds in each cover soil over seeds water in. Cover seed containers with cling film. Make sure soil is kept moisture the rest is time.

Great video. If you use hot water the jiffy plugs expand immediately. just let cool before seeding.

A good video that I could learn from. You can just use seed sowing compost though and a tray or some pots, as mine are just sprouting now with this. I do think I should have ensured all the seeds were a good size though. Just as a WARNING FOR THOSE WITH EPILEPSY: there are unintentional flashes/flickers off green light on this video.

just stumbled on your you tube channel. If you do not have the pellets what would be the potting medium to use? You did say at the beginning of the lesson that one may not have the jiffy pellets in our country. That's the case with me. My zone would be a 10 can I still plant fennel seeds
@danrt508 жыл бұрын
+jaycee157 short answer: i don't know if it will grow where you are. try potting soil instead of jiffy pellets and see what happens.
