my most substantial and healthy fig tree did not produce any figs at all this year (2023 Dec) any ideas why. I have 6 trees in a netted garden and they are 3 years old now. Last year I got a great crop on all trees but this year the best tree has no fruit.

Is it true that figs don't like to be watered daily in summer. I had a bumper crop of 100 fig but they grew to full size then just shrivelled up and fell off during heavy rains in Sydney on top of me Watering daily on non rainy days. I also added dynamic lifter in December which I was told is the wrong thing to do?

In ground. Same thing happened again this year but this time I didn't water at all. Got the first batch which were delicious but the main batch shriveled up and fell of. No fertilizer this year either. Any ideas?

@@hussghazi1 you have a san pedro type of fig tree. That kind needs polination for the second crop of figs. One example is Desert King variety.

I have a black genoa fig to plant, ideally as a fan against a W facing fence given the vigour of the tree. How thick will the trunk grow? Or is it better to plant in an open area?

@@brianrollins3245 Uhm,that is close to impossible for a fig out of pot and within normal climate conditions. One small tip from me,if you plant new young ones,mix cow manure-well composted then mushroom compost which is very important for root development and one third of premium soil mix. Also,if possible,try to create a mini garden beds for them,roots will (and tree,too),grow with great speed,i had two that grew 3 meter within a year. Good luck,regards from down under. :)

@@sinisasinisa3429 it is still in the pot. I am also in southern Aust. While I have seen skinny figs 2-3 m high, I am told the roots go crazy out of the pot. I have 20M high heritage figs nearby.

@@brianrollins3245 wow 20m fig tree is one Godzilla :) If you want to plant your pot fig in soil you know that 50% of roots must be cut and then sky is the limit. I lost many figs due to 3 yr long rain season here,now rooting one hundred more from cuttings.cheers :)
