Great harvest! I’m also in North TX and tried onions for the first time this year. It was a complete fail. lol. I think I didn’t give them enough water and fertilizer so they didn’t really bulb up. I’m just using them as green onions for now and will try again next season. Thanks for the tips!

Thank you! I'm sorry your onions didn't grow well. I'm just curious if you used short-day onions. If they were short-day, they should have had at least small bulbs.

I did. I got Texas Early Grano and Round Tropea from Baker Creek. I started the seeds in October and planted them out in February. Some have little tiny bulbs but they still mostly look like scallions now at the end of June 🤷🏾♀️ Also, love your presentation style. Just subscribed to your channel ✅

Have you tried separating a large bundle of starts in water? I've had decent results using clean water that is the same temperature as the air. With tomato, bell and jalapeño i've had no issue. Just take your time to massage the root ball, and let the water take the soil away slowly. This way, you are able to untangle the roots without excess damage. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences with the world!

I love using water to separate a clump of seedlings. This time, I decided to just shake the dirt off. Thank you! :)

I am doing this right now - they seem to be ok but are definitely taking their time.

Onions from seed do take a long time to grow. Hope you get a nice harvest!
