When you said you are 32 that BLEW my mind! I thought that you were MUCH younger. I would have have guessed 23 or 24. Wow! Grey is not aging you at all, Love.

There's something sort of regal, or "important looking" about grey that I like.

Maybe because we associate grey hair with aging and older age = wisdom?

Thanks! One of the biggest reasons why I haven't been consistent on KZbin is that I don't feel like have the personality for it. A lot of people I watch are very upbeat, and I think I come off as boring, or too slow-paced in comparison. It's nice to hear that someone out there appreciates that.

@@MindMadeUp I think diversity and individuality is what makes KZbin so interesting - your style is different from many, and that's why I like it! You're good at being authentic. :-)

Love all the variation of colors! You look wonderful! Your natural color suits you so well! I'm a year behind you in cold turkey grow out. I also have fine hair & can't pull off hair longer than shoulder length without so much fuss, so I keep length between jaw & shoulder.

I like trying temporary dyes and if you have grey hair you do not even have to bleach your hair because it is already light enough to show the colours. Just the ends or the bangs, that sort of thing. Temporary dyes wash out after a couple of shampoos. Be careful with reds though. Have you ever tried them? I think it's fun, and it may give you some ideas for new videos.
@MindMadeUp4 жыл бұрын
Yes, they're so fun. I'm a little scared to do it with the gray though. I think purple would probably be the only colour I'd try because I know that it'll wash out.

You and your natural hair look stunning. Have you seen the YT channel Empowered Greys. Charlotte, the owner uses photos and videos of real silver sister women going through transition and you should contact her if you fancy being featured on ner channel. You would be such a role model for younger women going through this as you look about 22. You are extremely articulate, (don't put yourself down), that was one of the reasons I have subscribed.

Hi you and your hair are beautiful. I love your attitude towards ageing, you are so right it is a privilege. I am 59 and I have worried about looking “older” ha ha, crazy right? I guess because I have always been told I look younger than I am. Anyway second time in to my grow out and this time it feels right 💕 you are very inspiring to lots of ladies I am sure x
@MindMadeUp4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the lovely comment 😊. This was actually my second time around too. We all worry about looking older, probably because it reminds us of our own mortality, but I try to change my thinking about it. It's still tough to do. Good luck with the grow-out!

Thank you for sharing your grey hair story! You inspired me to go grey too. I'm 33 and have been growing it out my curls for 1 year now :) I've been colouring for 15 yrs. Seeing my hair's natural shine keeps me going. I want my hair to be healthy again. My question is: has your hair care routine changed since going grey? I feel like the grey hair is a bit more stubborn. I use coconut oil mask to soften the hair but if you have any tips, I'd love to hear it.
@MindMadeUp4 жыл бұрын
Yay I'm happy to hear that 😊. Hmm that's a good question. It might be different for you because your hair is curly. I avoid silicones, parabens, and sulfates. I think you could probably benefit from a deep conditioner and maybe some finishing oil. I personally don't use oils because my hair is so fine, it can't really handle it. But I do notice that my hair is a bit frizzier than it used to be and I just try to accept it. I use pomade at my part to help smooth the flyaways and a bit of hairspray.

The fact that you said your hair must look purple in some lights... When your hair looks super purple in this video. Is that what irony is? Idk. It made me laugh, anyway! 😅 And it's v v pretty. I'm 25 and I started going grey a few years ago. I hope mine looks as pretty as yours someday. 😊
@MindMadeUp4 жыл бұрын
Haha really?? I think it depends on your computer/phone because on my laptop and phone it doesn't look purple at all. But I have another computer that seems to tint everything more blue than it is though 🤷🏼♀️
@catbeara4 жыл бұрын
@@MindMadeUp Oh, maybe! I was on my laptop, yeah, not my phone, so that might be it. Still v pretty though! 😊 (this is reminding me of a time when a guy told me I had "such green eyes", but... my eyes are grey - it was just the reflection of a football game on a TV screen 😅)

Does your hair look thicker than it did before you primarily went grey ? They say grey hair is thicker.
@MindMadeUp4 жыл бұрын
That's a good question. I'm not sure. If it is thicker, it's not noticeable to me, but my hair is very fine anyway.

How did you get the ashy blonde at the bottom on the 1 yr update video I don't want dark hair with grey roots x
@MindMadeUp3 жыл бұрын
I started the grow-out process with a warm blonde, and I would use a warmer brown eyeshadow to colour in my roots. This made it look like an ombre style, but once my roots grew out too much, I started dyeing the ends to try to blend because the blonde was way too warm to match my natural colour/grey. I did this with store-bought bleach and then tried to tone it with ashy blonde box dye. It worked okay, but not the best technique if you can get a professional to do it. I really didn't want to spend the money on ends that I was planning to cut off anyway lol. Also used purple shampoo and let it sit, to try and tone the colour even more.
