Hello from New York! Thank you so much for sharing, so kind + thoughtful of you, I truly appreciate it. After coloring my hair for decades, I'm now 6 months into my Gray Hair Transition. I just stopped Cold Turkey on November 2nd. I'm enjoying the transition + learning alot along the way. I'd also like to Thank You so much for another video you posted with the Hydrogen Peroxide Recipe for getting Yellow out of Gray Hair. I know it by heart: 1/3 Hydrogen Peroxide, 1/3 Water + 1/3 Your Favorite Conditioner, since not only did this Recipe restore my own gray hair that had started yellowing from a Yellow Dye that was in My Favorite Conditioner at the time, that had a White color! I was shocked to learn that it had a Yellow Dye in it, after using it for years! I was so thankful to have found your video! You'll be happy to know that besides helping myself, I gave the Recipe to 2 other Silver Sisters who were able to restore their gray hair too! You are beautiful inside + out and your hair is gorgeous. 🥰

I didn’t realize that although the color or lack of color did not mean there was no color there so i am reading the label even if it looks white. Thanks for that advise ❤

I've also started doing the root spray and regular hair trimming thing. I'm also going nopoo because I hear stopping using commercial shampoos can promote hair growth. So maybe I won't have to wait as long to go full gray that way. I'm planning on having it grow out to about 3 or 4 inches and then just getting a short haircut

Do you have any shampoo and conditioner recommendations for hard water?
@GrayHairTransitionandBeyond Жыл бұрын
Hi Assdfgghjk, Malibu C sells a line of products to help with hard water. I have not used these products because I haven't needed to but they are popular among the Silver Sister community. The products from this brand are less harsh than most Chelating (hard water) shampoos because they don't contain sulfates, or harsh chemicals so you can use them more often. You can use hard water wellness shampoo and conditioner (weekly) to remove hard water build up and discoloration. Check out their website (products are also on Amazon but website has all products on one page and is easier to find what you are looking for,imo)-they have a whole line of products to choose from. As I said, I haven't tried this brand so I can't say how well it works but many Silver Sisters have been satisfied with the results. I hope this helps!

I am 51 years old this year, I have not dyed my hair for 2 months, the inner hair roots are all white, but the most difficult thing is that the outer hair roots are too slow to grow a few inches, because it is the outer layer, because I have to go to work, and I feel very concerned about other people's eyes on my gray hair. I had to dye the outer layer of hair on the top of my head and keep the inner gray hair. Because I have dyed my hair for 20 years, I am too tired and don't want to dye my hair anymore. How can I make the outer layer of the head grow quickly without being ugly? How do i insist on not caring about (when i look in the mirror, i care about those few inches of white hair) and other people's eyes?
@GrayHairTransitionandBeyond Жыл бұрын
I felt the same way at the beginning of my transition. I didn’t want people to see my roots so I used a root cover up spray to help me get through the first few months. Once the roots had grown out long enough for people to know that I was going gray on purpose, it didn’t bother me anymore. Hopefully, it will be the same for you. You could also use a hair topper to cover your gray roots. Many Silver Sisters have used one to help them get through their transition to gray ❤️
