That was so heartwarming!! For a young man, he is so gentle with the animals. He has a very relaxing voice and is patient. I did not know you could train ducks to do what you want them to. I love your farm with all the flowers and gardens and your peaceful life.

This was such an enjoyable memory. I haven’t thought about peonies in a long time. Mother use to have some beautiful, pure white ones many years ago. I don’t know remember what happened to them but they were lovely. That was so sweet of that lovely lady to send you special flowers from her garden that meant so much to her. I call them memory flowers- yes they bring back the special memories and mean the most. It does not matter the cost of the flower….but the memories it has brought to you and know you can share with others. You are giving a piece of yourself when you share your special flowers.💐

With those peony rings that open, another trick if the plant is bigger is to open the ring, put it near the bottom of the plant, close the ring and pull it up, then push the legs in...ask me how I figured that out 🤣

I love the look of peonies. They're so decadent in a bouquet. I bought 2 bare roots Jan Van Leeuwen (2 seasons ago). I didn't know then just how long they take to get to the cut flower stage. I'll be keeping an eye out for a pink peony this season. Pink is my fav. How often should they get watered? I have drip irrigation and I think mine got over watered last season because the foliage died.
@crowleyhouseflowerfarm7 ай бұрын
They dont need much water at all, I just like o water a few times in the season for the foliage in fall.

I have several peonies; however they only last 1 to 2 weeks :( I almost fell out of my chair when you said yours will bloom for 6 weeks. But I am guessing yours last this long because you go into a dry spell. We get rain fairly regularly through spring and summer. The flower heads get beat up by the rain which can be heavy at times and they lose their petals quickly.

😊 I love all things peony! I seem to collect lilacs and peonies but the plants are still pretty small. 😢 it has to be a lesson in patience and making an investment in the future. But, my lilacs, which are going on year 3 are putting on buds. It feels like the waiting and wondering were worth it!

When I moved to a new house, I found two peony plants under a big tree in a shady area, however don't know the variety, one of the plants developed a small white bud that fell off, so I'm not sure what was happening to the plants, I did move both peonies to my side yard last month, and to my delight, it is growing. It's sandy soil and I put tomato cages around both plants and excited to see if I have any luck this year. I found your video very informative, and very jealous of your peony field.

I have had no problems with my tree peony. Of course they don't need any staking. You have to leave the woody part in place all year. It blooms much earlier than the herbaceous varieties. I let the grafted plant bloom and then the rootstock plant also blooms later. Both are beautiful and prolific

I live in Kentucky and have about 30 herbaceous peonies on my small city lot. I also have 5 tree peonies. I think they are easy to grow. The tree peonies can take a little more shade. The one in the most shade does not bloom. I like them all and would have more but no room.
