In my experience we should drill the hole on the sides and above 5 cm from the bottom so the container can retain some water. This helps during hot summer time.

The young leaf shoot is edible, stir fry it or blenched as side dish for steak or.make soup add with lentils. We asian in rural area does this sometimes after harvesting the pumpkin
