Possible the pony tail is a tat too tight. Use some rosemary water to spray edges then apply castor oil to seal it in. You will see a difference overtime. If you put a conditioner on oil the ends regularly, you may not have to cut the damage ends. Yesterday heat on the ends and hair will damage and dry out nutrients.

Yes ! Thick and nice ponytail …. Did you try L’Oréal detox shampoo for softness ? Or other chelating shampoo. And how long do you keep the ponytail style for without combing it
