I think it would be amazing for you guys to create a physical book with images and things you have learned during your homestead journey! The imagery and editing you guys do in your videos is truly beautiful!

Love the idea of how outdoor spaces, like that pretty clearing of forest for mushrooms, are an extension of your home - how it is like another space in your house. However, I am thoroughly disappointed that you referred to the outdoor room for your mushrooms as the "mushroom area" rather than the mush-ROOM. lol... :D Thanks for the great video.

Wow, I learned so much today! Had no idea that the logs that you innoculated could last 4 to 8 years! Great to see the process, the change of the seasons and Max growing up.... what a special story. Not sure I can duplicate the process in my back yard but has such an appreciation for those that do. Thanks for such an amazing story!

Wine cap mushrooms can be grown very easily in gardens with a little inoculated saw dust mix with your mulch

We did this years ago. I think you would really like oysters or lions mane. Know that as the years pass you will yield less but we found that some of them that kept coming were huge. Good blessings to your family and stay safe.

The mushrooms look so beautiful! It must be so nice to be able to grow your own organic produce. Not only is it much more special to eat it when you’ve grown it yourself, you can also be absolutely sure that it’s truly organic and nutritious. What a beautiful video, as always. Thank you guys ❤ I loved learning about mushrooms. Can’t wait to see what else you decide to grow.

What was the reason to use the angle grinder vs a drill? Is it because a drill is battery operated? I didn’t know you could use an angle grinder for that purpose!

You might really like Lions Mane mushrooms, they taste like crab meat and are a "Nerogenisis" type mushrooms (Very good for the brain). Also, wherever you garden or food forest, Purple Wine cap (the Garden Giant) helps the garden grow and they tend to trap nematodes that eat plant roots. The Wine Cap is an excellent mushroom for grilling, frying and sauteing. Oyster mushrooms are excellent for grilling an entire stack of them under weight, such as a cast iron skillet, and treat them like a hamburger..., OMG, they are tasty as can be! Peace, Love and Light!!!

Here in tropical areas in India those mushrooms are way slimy and we harvest it and the slimy ones are a delicacy. It's was such a waste. It could have been sundried and keep for later used.

I think your math is off with 30 lbs dried. 100 logs will yield about 30 lbs fresh shiitakes each fruiting. They sell for $15-24/lb... yielding $720 per fruiting. Which is awesome, but wanted to point out to others that your numbers are off.
