Nice easy to follow step by step video. First time gardeners should try it. I will add a tip here. Do regularly harvest spinach leaves else leaving them for long will allow formation of flowers and it will end of plant as it had achieved its mission of producing seeds.

Very nice! I love cheap planting! I make my own dirt mix at home. I think what you have is wild chard, we have it growing wild in California:). Grows beautifully like that, needs little water and has thin stems, comes from the Mediterranean I think. If your plant gets huge, and I mean like four or five feet and up, then it is what we call in the states chard, or perpetual spinach I think. So good to see diversity of plants in our gardens:)

Just found your channel and am subscribed already. We love spinach it just won't grow here (UAE) even though all the Indian gardeners are growing it with success. When I ask them how they do they just say they use regular seeds. Now I know they're probably growing the variety that you mention in your video that's why they have success and I fail bu trying the European ones. Thank you.
@LaalGarden9 жыл бұрын
+Yana Abdel Khalik Thank you very much. You are right, the European of Spinach is not suitable there, they are usually frost tolerant and cant tolerate sun, where as Indian varieties can cope with sun and heat. Also if temperature is going down too much in the night, you can get your Spinach indoor to avoid cold. Spinach Varities - www.grow-it-organically.com/spinach-varieties.html

Hi. Very nicely explained. Can I sow spinach now? Are there different seeds available for rainy season? Can i grow them in the bigger pots directly or is it customary to grow them in smaller pots and then transfer them to bigger ones? Eagerly waiting for your reply.
@LaalGarden8 жыл бұрын
Now is not the best time to grow, It wont matter if its raining, there should be good sunlight at least 6 hours for this variety to thrive well. You can grow them in big pots directly no need to transplant.

really simple and nice info. i have a couple of questions. 1. why do we need to soak the seeds? can we not sow them directly? 2. why do we need to grow those seedlings in a separate container first? can we not sow the seeds directly in that second container? thanks.
@LaalGarden7 жыл бұрын
You need not soak the seeds, its only that if you soak it the chances of germination is more and you can save on the amount of seeds that you need. You can directly sow it in your main pot but then you will have difficult time in de-weeding the pot and caring for the sprouts. Some seeds you have to germinate in coco-peat or sterile soil. Normal garden soil will be filled with microbes and pests which will make germination difficult.

Thank you for your reply. ..what Is the use of soaking the palak seeds. ..can we use as such. .
@LaalGarden8 жыл бұрын
+aaisha Syed soaking seeds will improve the chance of germination. As you are never know what climate changes into. By soaking the seeds for a day or two you are helping and kick-starting the germination process, and by planting it after that you have better chance of getting the plants.

If the potting mix had some cocopeat, it will retain moisture. In case required, water less and more frequently to avoid excessive drying
