Hello friends, don't throw the seeds but collect them .when you visit any forest area please throw them here and there by doing so you will help raising forests. Many animals, birds and people will be benefited because of you.

You need not pollinate if you are in a natural environment, Beetles and Ants will pollinate it naturally, but if you are in an urban environment or want better yield then you have to hand pollinate.

This fruit is known by many different names throughout the world. Here in Barbados we call it *sugar apple*, but it's also called *sweetsop* (I guess because it resembles the soursop when cut) and *custard apple*. This is where it gets confusing, because there's another fruit which closely resembles the sugar apple which is also called custard apple! I've never tasted that other custard apple, but Mark Twain once remarked that it's the best fruit in the world (or something like that).

Custard apple is delicious; creamy and rich. Makes good ice cream.........................A sweet sop is not a custard apple, 2 different fruits.
@asmartbajan
@asmartbajan 8 жыл бұрын
+linda brown The problem is that the names depend on which part of the world you're from. Like I said, the *sugar apple* is indeed called *custard apple* in some regions. If you were to search for *sugar apple* on Google, you'll see what I mean.

Thanks for the tips. The sugar apple is one of my favorite fruits. I live in Barbados and have a couple of the trees in my yard. Trust me, there's _no_ way I would leave them on the tree to ripen before picking. If I did that, the birds would get them all! What I do is monitor them daily when they're big, and once they start to change from a deep greyish green to yellowish green and their segments start to open, I pick them. They usually ripen within a couple days of harvesting. Once they start to emit a sweet smell, they ripen amazingly quickly (within just a few hours). By the way, when harvesting, it would be better to cut the stems with a pair of secateurs. _Much_ easier than using a knife!

Hi Miss Laal I got my Custard Appel seeds from Mumbai India about 2 1/2 years ago and grow plant. in the container in California and it's about 2 Foot tall and healthy . Now it flowers and I was thinking don't have to Polanate but most of the flowers fell down without any fruits then. I Polanated 3 flowers and I have 3 custard apples and I fertilize with Organic NPK once a month

I watched her video two years ago and was encouraged to grow the plant in a half barrel, I got a plant and it's about five years old now I've gotten fruit, it's supposed to be a small version and the fruit were sweet, it gave fruit another time but something ate the insides and I lost those four fruit, but it bore one late last year and I put it into an onion bag to save it from critters, surprisingly it's larger than the other fruits. I'd like to know what fertilizer and pesticides you use

You have to clean the seeds and after that you can either soak in wet paper or you can directly sow it in soil, it will take some time and will germinate within 15 to 20 days. No need to dry them.

Its very difficult to make a complete vedio from seed germination to fruit farmation and their harvesting.It takes much time and work is completed in so many small pieces and finally edited to final shape.But you have done very nicely and perfectly.God shower his blessings upon you beautiful, young and very intelligent girl. Thank you a lot.
