We made some last year. It was a fun experiment. This year we are going to do a bit more, but mostly we are hoping to make syrup.... yum.

We are so excited to make the syrup. The sugar was a fun experiment, but we loved the syrup and it will be easy to can for storage. And in a crisis, we could always cook it down more into sugar.

Sugar beets are a bi-annual seed producer. So if you plant them this year, you need to save some of the best beets to replant the following season so that they can go to seed. We have a video started to show this process, but our beets have not finished producing their seed. When they do, we will wrap it up and post it. Thank you so much for watching.
