In hindsight the 3DO and its contemporaries - the LaserActive, CDi, etc - were a big mistake. But something about Trip Hawkins' vision of a truly open platform resonated back in the 90s. And honestly, this system was better than you think it is!
Join me as I reminisce about my time as a 3DO owner, the reason why it happened, and how I managed to pull off buying one of the most expensive consoles in history when I was still in my teens.
