I’m surprised how many people was taking sunbath in the beach. I spend 10 years in Aberdeen from 2011-2021 and I never saw this much people on the beach. Even the weather changed. Anyway I miss the city I loved to live here.

1951 Aberdonian here, lived in Whitehouse Street and Faulds Gate, left to Glasgow in around 1959, often went back to visit relatives. Childhood was exciting there ! Still get nostalgic when I think of the Swimming Pool and Cinema near the top of Union Street. All us kids taking the bus to the pictures Saturday morning. The beach at Balmede ! The hills and the winter snow.

Born and bred in Aberdeen, but had to leave as it changed too much. One by one all my childhood memories were taken away, until there was nothing left, so no point in staying. At least there's still hope that the Bon Accord Baths might eventually reopen.

Excerpt from a BBC Report from 1964: “Sheena Blackhall was a 16-year-old schoolgirl when Aberdeen was brought to its knees by the largest typhoid outbreak in recent British history 50 years ago. Sheena Blackhall The men in the white coats were there - that was the doctors. But I, still delirious, thought I was being attacked by giant seagulls Sheena Blackhall More than 500 people of all ages had to be quarantined in hospital. The infection was eventually traced back to a single tin of Argentinean corned beef sold in a supermarket. It happened in the summer of 1964, and led to speculation across the country of many deaths In reality, it was contained and ... “ there were none! Strange and difficult times again with the Coronavirus pandemic!

From witch's hat to church steeple, what headgear shall we aspire to wear ? Shall we put on our latest spire and go round with a church on our heads ? Shall we build suit and tie statues inside our skulls ? See the people on their daily errands with their daily intentions and routine eyes, as unfazed about where they are as fish in an ocean of infinite uniformity. See them squirm under the irony of the indifferent edifices. The tall and straight ones don't worry about time like us. OK they are concerned about space to some degree. Yet buildings don't have to jostle for zebra crossing priority, or bus seat superiority or try and get to work on time. Or please and impress their economic masters. They have no ritual bosses to psych them into psychosis. They ignore all threats just as the rain spits on them all day but cannot make them change their minds. Stubborn buildings. Unmalleable statis machines that have no false needs to make them rabbit run all their lives in rabid submission.
