My daughter’s first bday is in march (first baby!!) so I am excited for party prepping.

This time around I did (to trap in the moisture). But you could let the cakes cool and do it then. In that case, a lot of bakers sprinkle on a simple syrup (sugar water) on the cakes to keep them moist.
