I'm happy Sizwe got the opportunity to speak on this when he did. Imagine if this interview happened after the fact. Trolls would be dragging him saying he is chasing clout... It's unfortunate AKA never reached out, if he never did.

Just curious. What do you mean by this? That he understands YT algorithm... Is it that he did this interview before the fact of Kienan's death? I've only caught a few episodes of this podcast and absolutely love Nkululeko's genuine and smooth approach to his guests.

To your question Sizwe as to why AKA disconnected from you all I think you answered it that you were interested in academics and the other one did law and AKA wanted to do music, you can't blame him if you have never reached out to him, or bcoz he was famous, so he was supposed to be the one reaching out to you guys? Lol ai, RIP Mega🕊🕊🙏
@mulubaprincess8020 Жыл бұрын
i dont think thats what he meant. I'm not sure how old you are but whether you are in high school or an adult, I'm sure u can attest to the fact that you are no longer with your friends that you had in primary school and/or your friends that you had in high school but you have no beef or ill will towards them. Life happens and unfortunately with that you will lose friends. Looking at this interview I can see he had genuine love for his friend Kiernan Forbes but did not like the way AKA acted towards them afterwards. We don't know what happened between them but we do know that AKA was a talented, beautiful and flawed person (like all of us). He was not perfect and i think this was just an example of one of those instances where his imperfections showed. #RIPAKA we miss u

No you are wrong. "Coloureds" never identified as coloured, it was forced upon a people. Lets just leave it at that.

Oh but they love it now though, anything not to identify as black i guess, I am mixed like sizwe and bayaxwaya njalo when they hear I identify as black, they be like "why? You know you look coloured right. You could identify as coloured"

Coming from mixed people and having no such traces in my appearance, I can only speak as an observer. Language and social status play a part in issues of identity. Sizwe rightfully pointed the individual identity versus group assigned identity. Finding a balance in that maze is gold.

Colored comes from the fact that they don't want to be black. So it's colored and not black... get it?

That said, I still don't understand why Sizwe and Nhlanhla weren't given a chance to speak at the memorial seeing they were part of the beginning, and they were together at St John's for a few more years after the SAMA and Kora nominations...unless the Forbes were salty about Dali Mpofu's comment.
