@@despicabledavidshort3806 I don’t know mate they could get bit by a snake anywhere a hike, running around in the garden or a park you can’t shelter kids from the unknowable and the unpredictable parts of life like that. you can only try to minimize it. She had a controlled are where she goes and checks often for gardening, in the mist of all of it it’s great memories for those kids and immersing them in nature, learning about gardening or how small ecosystems work. That’s a win to me

Wait wait wait I need more. I need like a 2 hour KZbin explanation of how you use this. Where are you? How cold does it get? Can you grow all winter? How long were the panels to get a tunnel that tall? I live in the incredibly dry and bitterly cold (during winter) high desert and I'm exploring options. I'd love to hear more about this!

I'm also in WI. Dunn co. area, so, zone 4 most of the places I've lived around here. I don't think you can have an unheated greenhouse (which is not attached to a heated building like a home, on the south side) here and avoid the ground freezing hard, unless MAYBE, MAYBE, as the other commenter says, one of the in-ground ones, aka a walipini I think. To really get enough temp mitigation, it may need to be fairly large, idk. I just know there's a place with a huge on in MN in which they raise lots of things but famously, those donut shaped peaches. ( I'm wondering how they avoid aphid or other indoor-growing issues). For me, if I'm wanting one to be for any real winter use, it's going to be a sunroom attached to the south side of my home. Just seems to me that for the effort and price, I'd rather be able to ensure it won't freeze, have it's excess heat help heat my home in spring and fall, and be able to walk right into it in my slippers ( or bare feet !) in winter.... . But, there are way to rig up fairly passive ( non-electric) ground-heat methods, and of course use thermal-mass-heat-sinks like stone etc. or black water containers ( and I'd definitely use a cold sink as well, below the level of the plants). I haven't watched it yet, but Verge Permaculture just released a new video ON a cold-climate, passive, Walipini greenhouse today, go figure ;) ! .
