Thanks for all the wisdom sir! Shot my first buck in years yesterday afternoon. Got out of hunting around 22-23 for busy life reasons and then back at probably 4 yrs ago. I’m 39 now. Been studying your videos along with a couple other guys, anything from hunting to food plots and even burning and implementing what I can to my land(135 acres or so). I was beginning to get discouraged. Shot my first off this land and my personal best ever yesterday. 14 point in some tough hill country of South Carolina. Came in checking two scrapes I was sitting about 30yds from. Thank you again!

I’ve got multiple tags to fill for family members. I took a 140lb spike Saturday , my second day hunting this season. I’m hoping in 3 hours to down a 200+ lb 7 point that’s crossing my camera every morning at 730 , if he entered it the previous night. Hopefully it holds true

I recently moved to Southern Missouri 6 months ago. But from my experience living and hunting in Illinois most of my life, these tactics apply almost everywhere. I've taken multiple bucks over the years shortly after harvesting a doe. I can't wait to apply more knowledge from you to my son's and I hunts the upcoming years. Good luck and God bless.

Southern missouri is different. Be prepared for deer going wild. Due to cheap out of state tags. Usually alot of people rifle hunting. Best chance is bow hunting before rifle season.

Nice rundown. I have seen bucks "tending" roadkilled does. They will bed down within eyesight of her...I am sure their thought bubble reads, "When you get up, IT IS ON!"🤭

In the south where we don't have harsh winters, I feel our rut is never predictable like the research shows (I believe it might be primarily dependent on doe family group)

Saw multiple bucks moving during daylight hours yesterday & today while working on a client's property in central Missouri. Things look to be well underway in the hills along the Missouri River.

The peak of the rut here I'm southern Saskatchewan is usually around the 15-20th of November. Given what I saw on our trail camera last week, all the little spiker bucks and one big bruiser were having a 4 a.m. antler shindig.

This past Sunday I sat in a stand just down from a believed bedding area. I decided to hit the grunt call around 7:30am and seconds later here came a nice buck running to me. I was able to get a shot off, however couldn’t recover him. I thought I hit heart area, but only had 7” arrow penetration.

This is so true today I pull up to a feild and went to my trunk to grab my gun and I turn around and 50 yards behind me i see two very mature does run away after being beaded down they ran for the timber and hid away but it shows that the does are probably waiting for a buck in the area to catch up with them this was in Maryville missouri

Has there been any studies done about the rut based on age structure of the doe population. I believe the older the doe population the earlier the breeding occurs. The younger the later, so theoretically depending on the age structure of the herd, some hunter’s acknowledge and experience rut activity at different times. I believe that the commonly known “rut” period occurs mainly where the average herd age of the population is 2.5 to 4.5. I think when we see bucks chasing it is mainly the 2.5 year old doe’s and younger.

I rattled in my best buck, an eight point, in 2000. I haven't rattled much since then but I tried it again last week. No luck. I used a rattle bag. Do you prefer actual antlers?

I have a beautiful buck on trail cam on 10/27 at four pm, it’s 11/12 and he hasn’t been back at all ! Impossible to hunt him
