The 1972 Lakers team will always have a special placed in my heart and it's no disrespect at all to any others Lakers championship teams but I was 11 years old when I saw the Lakers beat the New York Knicks at the Forum and I remember watching the fans storm onto the court, I must have went crazy at home at the time, of course I love the showtime Lakers teams of the 1980's with Magic and Kareem and the Lakers teams with Kobe and Shaq, also the lakers teams with Kobe and Pau Gasol, they are all special in their own way including the Minneapolis Lakers teams of the 1950's.

I would love to hear or see a comprehensive look at what in the hell was going on with the lakers from 1975-1979? Hello you’ve got Kareem Abdul Jabbar the best player in the league in his prime and did nothing? I realize there was no Magic Johnson on the team but this is Kareem in his 20s. I just don’t get why no one talks about those teams uneventfulness. The rosters alongside Jabbar aren’t so bad either, this was before my time but still I think it would be an interesting topic for a documentary.

What Happened to the 75-79 Lakers? Portland Better Walton in his Prime was at UCLA sidenote (College Walton was better than College Kareem) but in Portland in 77 in 65 games was a beast averaged 14.4 rebounds per game even on Bad feet Golden State Better Rick Barry averaged 30.6 ppg .904 from the Free throw line and 3 steals a game in 75 Seattle Better 78 and 79 Seattle won the west the End....

@@backnine39 I get what you are saying but those teams that won the western conference in 76 77 78 & 79 like Portland , Golden state and Seattle their rosters weren’t as talented as those lakers rosters. Most people can’t name 2 players from the Golden State team besides Rick Barry and same with Portland and Seattle. Some people can perhaps name Dennis Johnson and Jack Sikma from Seattle but most people without googling can’t name multiple players from those teams. Kareem and the lakers from 75 - 79 underachieved to the extreme.

@leobangsum740

@@faviovega6040 showing honor is a great thing for sure. However, jersey retirement solidifies a player in history and is simply a sign of respect. A man who won a franchise 5 chips should have their jersey retired. Especially if those championships from a completely different city/state are highly celebrated.

@@Zack29810 they won 50 games before going to the Bubble. They beaten the 76ers, the Bucks, and the Clippers in the same week before the Shutdown. They went into the bubble without Demarcus Cousins that didn’t play a single game and Avery Bradley who was a big part of those last 3 games before the bubble. They beaten the Denver Nuggets who came back from both 3-1 leads against Utah and the Clippers, they beat Dame Time who were the toughest #8 seeded, they beaten the Miami Heat. Let’s also not forget Miami upset the Pacers with Bubble MVP TJ Warren, the #1 seeded Bucks, and the #2 seeded Celtics. Miami had Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, Dragic, and Duncan Robinson. Lakers were short handed missing both key players, I don’t to hear that Bubble don’t count crap. The only rings that don’t count are the championships that KD won in golden state.
