Oh wow! I hope it brought back a lot of nice memories. This mountain village is so unique with all the little Swiss chalets. It’s like a fairytale. I’m sure you remember when you were there how beautiful all the farms were. That’s what fascinated me in the Berner Oberland.

That's beautiful country, that Evolene; thanks for taking us there. In North America, columns or pinnacles of rock are called "hoodoos". Creedence Clearwater Revival had a hit song in the '70's called Born On The Bayou with lyrics: "...chasin' down some hoodoos there". Google it, great song.

Oh! And I was going to point out the bed at the Hotel Hermitage - it looks as though it may have been from the film Deborance? ... Which is a tiny village on the other side of the Valais - it's very small and the road up is very narrow with lots of tunnels - it's well worth a visit if you get a chance. The backstory to the village is very sad though 😢
@GrowingUpWithoutBorders4 жыл бұрын
Oh cool! We'll have to look it up. Thanks for sharing.
@lilswisslett66564 жыл бұрын
@@GrowingUpWithoutBorders Definitely, it is tiny - probably more hamlet than village. There's a small lake which was created when the village was destroyed in the 1700s and there's a little walk around it. 💖
