@GrowingUpWithoutBordersКүн бұрын
Hey Sandra! The ice cream so delicious and it hit the spot. We do get tired was strange is sometimes just sitting while traveling makes you tired too. Or, maybe it just catches up with you and once you stop it hits you.

Geisha apprentice is called Maiko. Also, in Kyoto, geisha are called geiko, not geisha, and outside of Kyoto, they are called geisha. The period of maiko is about 5 years from the age of 16, as they start apprenticeships immediately right after graduating from junior high school. You can tell the difference between geisha and maiko by their kimonos. If the sleeves are long and the obi is hanging down, it is maiko. And hair style is different, too. Rounder hair style is for maiko.
@GrowingUpWithoutBordersКүн бұрын
Thanks so much for sharing. This is helpful to understand. I heard all these different names they have but I mixed up Geiko with Maiko.

I love the part about the tea where the girls explained to them before driking it that they have to do a ceremony and how to drink it and once she grabs your cup of tea you have to turn it around and then drink it 🫖☕️🎎

It's very precise. I was quite surprised actually. I didn't realize they have certain ways to drink a cup of tea.

@@GrowingUpWithoutBordersYou are urged to become VEGAN, since carnism (the destructive ideology that supports the use and consumption of animal products, especially for “food”) is arguably the foremost existential crisis.🌱

We were vegan at one point then we visited our friends in Texas and it went downhill from there.
@JagadguruSvamiVeganandaКүн бұрын
@@GrowingUpWithoutBorders, veganism is NOT a diet. There is NO SUCH thing as a "vegan diet", because veganism is purely a moral stance against the undue use and abuse of animals in any way, such as parading them in a circus or zoological park, stealing their milk or eggs, and of course, needlessly slaughtering them and feeding on their bloody carcasses. Therefore, if you equate veganism with a DIET, then you have absolutely no idea of what you speak!

14:57 Pachinko is illegal. The reason it cannot be regulated is because the majority of the owners are Korean. Arresting them would be "discriminatory against foreigners," so the crime is overlooked for political reasons.

Why is it illegal? Is it like gambling? I thought it was just video games.

@@GrowingUpWithoutBordersIt's illegal gambling overlooked under U.S. management after ww2, involving cash bets instead of coin games. In Japan, only public gambling like horse racing, boat racing, bicycle racing, and auto racing is legal. Politicians have often said the police should crack down on pachinko, but the groups use pachinko profits for donations or claim discrimination, creating a stalemate.
